At Anaheim Hills

A private house party in Anaheim Hills was the backdrop for a wild Wave Invasion gig in September 2006. Tearing it up at the end of the cul du sac are, from left, Gary Sanderson, guitar, of San Dimas, CA; Jeff Dover, drums, of Hemet, CA; Vince Motel, guitar, of Norco, CA; and Richard Fisher, bass / keyboards, of Riverside, CA. New drums: Big, bad . . . and blue

Vintage guitar and percussion gear has long been one of the trademarks of Wave Invasion. It's a key element in the band's classic surf sound. In June 2007, after many years of solid service, Wave Invasion drummer Jeff Dover retired his 1965 red sparkle Ludwig drum kit to bring in this new blue 1973 Ludwig Vistalite kit, featuring a 24-inch bass, 16-inch floor tom, 12- and 13-inch rack toms, 14-inch snare and classic Zildjian cymbals. Wave Invasion meets Lord Stanley

Wave Invasion bassist / keyboardist Richard Fisher was first introduced to surf music and rock-and-roll as a lad in Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada when he heard his big sister's 45 rpm of Buddy Knox's "Party Doll" in 1957. He's been hooked ever since. So, 50-years-later, when the National Hockey League's renowned Stanley Cup - the pride of Canada - made a visit to Southern California, it was only fitting that Wave Invasion's CD "Which Way to the Beach?" meet Lord Stanley's Cup for the first time.
